By cutting the bobbin stitches for
the thicker satin stitches, the thread
will unravel into small loops!
We sat down with digitizing to think
up some unique ways to turn ordinary
appliqués into something a little more
extraordinary! With a few simple
digitizing addiitions, we discovered a
fun way to create fringe in the hoop,
without the need for added trims,
ribbons, or store-bought notions! This
latest technique can be done with all
the tools the average embroiderer
already owns: scissors, a seam ripper or
snips, and tweezers.
To create the fringe, you’ll run your
entire design like normal. Then, from the
back of the hoop, we’ll show you where
to slice the bobbin stitches, freeing
up the threads from the front. The end
results of this method will create loops
of thread anchored in along the top of
each row. A quick fluff from the front
will pull the threads free from the fabric,
making for a fun and fringy looped look.
LOOP, THERE IT IS!
