The plain back file of the bag,
ADSBBACK, will get stitched
first and comes in 3 different
size options. The same back
will be used regardless of
the animal you choose!
The fifinal hooping will be the
corresponding face file for the
animal you chose, labeled with
“-2” in the name, and will need
to match the same sizing letter
as your other 2 pieces.
We created this tutorial to make your project as simple as
possible. Each Animal Drawstring Bag will be created using
3 hoopings: 1) the back of the bag, 2) animal’s ears, and 3)
animal’s face and final assembly. The ears will be the only
hooping that requires tear away stabilizer, while the back of
the bag and final hooping will both use a mesh stabilizer.
To create a drawstring channel at the top, the design will
stitch out a specific series of marking stitches to follow
The ears file will come
next, labeled as “-1” in
the file name followed
by its corresponding
sizing letter. These ears
should be stitched out
on a tear away stabilizer!
along with. Using the pictured step-by-step instructions, as
well as the design file’s numbered machine steps, you can
more easily navigate the key steps while following along.
We suggest gathering all of your appliqué fabrics and laying
them out in order to make sure you like the combination
of colors before picking your threads or getting started. As
always we recommend looking over each project’s tutorial
thoroughly before beginning.
