Align the marked center of the ruffle strip with the center of
the design and pin it in place. TIP: You can use tailor’s chalk
to measure and mark the halfway point on the top line on
your stabilizer to make aligning the strip even easier!
Start with one side of the ruffle strip and gently pull all 3
basting stitches, resulting in a gathering of the strip. Keep
pulling and working the material until there is no slack
between your gathering and the centered pin.
Repeat the same process to the opposite side of the ruffle.
Once gathered on both sides, your design should look
something like this.

Smooth out the gathers to be even on both sides. Once
smoothed, your ruffles should look something like this.
Use tape to secure the ruffle in place and remove the pins.

Run the tacking stitch for the bag’s ruffle strip, then remove
the tape.
