Now, take the excess fabric strip and fold it over the diagonal
stitch you just made, then pull the strip up back up over itself
and align it with the raw edge of the design (as shown here).
Continue to do all 4 sides at a 1⁄2” seam allowance.
With the binding strip sewn on, the back of your coaster
should look similar to this.

Now, fold the raw edge of the binding strip in to meet the raw
edges of the block, then fold once more to create a clean, 1⁄2”
double fold. Use pins to secure the fold in place.
Repeat the double fold, taking care to make the corners
pretty. Pin the binding around the entire block so that the
binding is secured. Before you continue, put a matching
bobbin in your machine if you want to conceal the stitches!

Once you’ve sewn around the entire design’s binding, the
block will look something like this!
Transfer the block back to your sewing machine right side
facing up. Sewing at a 1⁄2” seam allowance, stitch the binding
to the block to secure it in place, removing pins as you go.
