Here at Anita Goodesign, we always like trying new ideas,
and one of our favorite ways to experiment is by combining
two collections to create a project.
For this embroidery adventure, we chose two design sets
that complement one another. Our first design collection
is Southern Sue (find it in this issue of All Access!) which
consists of embroidery created in a timeless hand-stitched
style, which lends itself easily to a variety of projects.
The second collection we used is Seasonal Napkin Rings
and Lace Borders (released July 2018, not included in this
issue). This lovely collection not only features in the hoop
napkin rings, but also has beautiful free standing lace. With
the lace’s flat edge, it is perfect to use as trim on a variety of
items from clothing to home decor.
Our feature combines Southern Sue and Seasonal Napkin
Rings and Lace Borders to create a beautiful set of items to
decorate your table and home.
Both designs used are embroidery-only, so we don’t show
too much detail here. You’ll just need to hoop Wash Away
Stabilizer — behind your base fabric for Sue, and by itself (we
prefer two layers) for the lace — and you’re off and running!
For more specific directions, refer to the step-by-step tutorial
included with each collection.
