MANUAL ALIGNMENT
If your embroidery machine doesn’t
have a camera feature, here are a few
tips and tricks you can use to be sure
your designs are exactly where you
want them to be.
Depending on your type of project, you
will either want to re-hoop your base
materials with the appropriate stabilizer
between each design, or float the base
materials over hooped stabilizer.
Pay attention to where your machine’s
needle is positioned within the design
area. There are machine features that
allow you to make the needle sit in the
exact center of the hoop.
As shown here in the pictures, we have
illustrated what a “template” looks
like. Basically, we stitched out the free
motion design directly onto Tear Away
stabilizer, drew lines to mark the center
and used it as a template to help align a
second design.
Using a ruler, chalk, and the notches on
your embroidery hoop, you can draw an
axis on your stabilizer or base material
in the exact center to help guide you.
