CHAD LANGHOFF
Graphic Designer
With every new month comes a brand new All Access book
sent to you from Anita Goodesign. If you are anything like
me, you may have flipped trough every page and wondered
how all the amazing artwork and details were put together as
if you could grab it right out of the pages and bring it straight
into the real world. This month, we would love to introduce
you to one of the newest members of the Anita family, Chad
Langhoff! Chad is one of our awesome in-house Graphic
Designers who help create the magic you see in each of our
published magazines. We took a moment to ask him a few
questions about himself, how he got to where he is today, as
well as his work life!
What made you get into the graphic design field?
I have always been an artist. I grew up painting and drawing
since I was little. I learned this all from my mom. When I hit
college, I started to realize that painting might not pay the
bills...so I side-stepped into graphic design. There was a
learning curve for sure since all my life I had used a paintbrush
or a pencil. Now I had to learn how to draw, create and do
things with a mouse. I quickly caught on and I really fell in
love with designing.
Have you always wanted to be a graphic designer?
I have always enjoyed being creative. It’s been wired in me
from the very beginning and graphic design is one of those
outlets. It’s the one that pays the bills anyways. LOL. But for
me being creative is a part of my life. I look at things from
a creative point of view. When I see a road sign, I see the
typography that is being used and the angles of the arrows.
When I look at menus, I see how they laid it out, the font
they used, and the hierarchy of items on a page. Graphic
Design is for sure one expression for being creative, but my
true passion has always been painting. It’s something that I
love doing and brings back a lot of great memories of my
late-mom. It’s a way for me to stay connected with her.
If you were to become a painter, what would your style be
and what mediums would you focus on?
I have worked with oils and acrylics growing up. Currently
I have settled on acrylics because they don’t have an odor
to them. Since I don’t have a dedicated studio, I paint in my
house, so I want to keep the smell down to a minimum. Plus
when you have little kids who like to touch things, acrylic is
great for clean up and fast-drying purposes.
As for style, I really focus on the Spiritual word. I really enjoy
reading the Bible and through those scriptures, I get inspired
to paint the battles that I face on a daily basis. The struggles,
the victories, and the unknowns of life. These paintings then
