Decorative Block Construction
Step-by-Step Instructions
A B
Run your next machine step, which will be the squaring stitch
for your batting.
To begin, start by hooping a piece of No-Show
mesh stabilizer.
NOTE: For this example we are using design file RBDB8.
C D
Place your batting over the squaring stitch. Be sure to cover
it completely. Run the next machine step, which will be the
tacking stitch for your batting. Once tacked, use scissors to
trim away any excess batting, close to the tacking stitch line.
Now, place your base fabric right side facing up over the
batting. Be sure to cover it completely while leaving enough
fabric for a 1⁄2" seam allowance.
E F
Continue running the design's numbered machine steps,
following any indicated color changes for the embroidery.
You will stop once you reach the placement stitch for the first
standard appliqué.
Run your next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch
for the base fabric.
