Follow the 1⁄2” seam allowance of your quilt blocks to stitch in
the ditch. When you reach the first corner, leave the needle
in the down position, lift up your presser foot, and pivot your
block 90 degrees, then continue sewing. Repeat all around.

Now it is time to add binding to your trivet. For your binding,
you will need a strip of fabric that is 42” long by 21⁄2” wide.
Once you have stitched your layers together, your trivet
design should look something like this.
With right side facing down, create your binding’s start/stop
point by aligning its raw edge with the raw edges of the
trivet. Then, fold the binding edge to a triangle (shown). Pin
or clip in place. Begin sewing across the strip at a 1⁄2” seam.
