Sew at a 1/2” seam allowance until you reach the corner.
Leave your needle down and pivot the trivet 45˚ toward the
corner, continuing to stitch off the corner of the quilt block.

Starting at the tip of the corner’s seam allowance, stitch at
a 45˚ angle until you get to the quilt block’s tacking stitch.
Continue stitching along the tacking stitch line until you reach
the next corner.
Fold the binding strip back against the 45˚ line you stitched.
Then, fold the binding strip back onto itself once more, lining
up the raw edge of the binding with the raw edge of the
trivet. Pin or clip in place, as shown.
Follow the same technique used in picture steps 9-11 to
attach the binding strip to the last two edges. Continue
stitching until you have sewn the strip 2” beyond your start/
stop point from earlier.
