PLANNING YOUR TABLE RUNNER
Our sample table runner consists of an autumn pumpkin
theme on the front and an ornamental winter theme on the
back. Each theme is comprised of two connecting designs
which are repeated in an alternating pattern. We decided to
make our runner the length of 11 of the A size blocks, which
would be appropriate for a table that seats approximately 6
to 8 people. With these table runner designs, you can stitch
and attach as many blocks as you would like to fit any table
size. You’ll first want to measure your table’s length and
consider what you’d like the dimensions of each block to
be in order to pick the correct file size. Then, simply use the
information below to figure out how many blocks of each
design you will need to make. If you would like your runner
to hang down each end of your table, you can add a few
extra blocks. Remember that the binding added around the
border will add a little dimension as well, so be sure to take
that into account when planning how many blocks to make.
We recommend using the smaller blocks for small tables and
the larger blocks for larger tables.

USING DESIGN SETS
Each festive theme includes two connecting designs. Alternate these designs to create a beautiful pattern that can
repeat over and over to create the perfect length for your table runner! Here, we used RR1-1 and RR1-2.

CALCULATING YOUR RUNNER LENGTH
Table Length: approximately 30” - 36”
A Size: 3-4 blocks per design set (6-8 total blocks)
B Size: 4-5 blocks per design set (8-10 total blocks)
C Size: 5-6 blocks per design set (10-12 total blocks)
D Size: 6-7 blocks per design set (12-14 total blocks)

B Size: 12-13 blocks per design set (24-26 total blocks)

SEATER
We used the A-size blocks
for our table runner, which
measure 8” x 12”. To estimate
the amount of fabric needed
for your binding, calculate the
total length of your runner’s
edges. Ours is (12” x 2 sides)
+ (88” x 2 sides) = 200”. We
wanted our binding to be 1⁄2”
wide with a 1⁄2” seam allowance.
We then added another 1⁄2”
to the binding width, just to
be safe. In total, we cut and
attached four 21⁄2” strips of
fabric to create the binding.
Table Length: approximately 96” - 120”
A Size: 12-15 blocks per design set (24-30 total blocks)
B Size: 13-17 blocks per design set (26-34 total blocks)
C Size: 16-20 blocks per design set (32-40 total blocks)
D Size: 19-24 blocks per design set (38-48 total blocks)
