Transfer to your sewing machine and stitch the binding onto
the front of the runner using a 1⁄2” seam allowance. Stop
when you reach the first corner. With your needle still down,
raise your presser foot and rotate the runner 45° and sew a
half inch towards the corner.

Remove the runner from the machine. To make a mitered
corner, fold the binding strip away from the runner along the
45° seam you just created, like shown above.
Then, keeping that fold in place, fold the fabric back down so
that it is parallel with the next edge of your runner and pin in
place.
With right sides together, pin the beginning of the binding
strip to one side of the runner (this will be the “front”). Align
the edge of the binding with the edge of the panel, giving
yourself a 1⁄2” seam allowance. Fold the binding to create
clean start/stop point in the binding, then pin in place.
