STITCHING YOUR MERGED DESIGNS
STEP-BY- STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Once you have cut your panel to size, you will need to locate
its center. To do so, lay your panel flat on your work surface
so that the WRONG side is facing you, then fold the material
in half lengthwise. Then, fold the fabric in half again, this time
widthwise (inset image). Use a steam iron to press the folds.
To begin, start by cutting the front panel for your pillow. For
our project, we chose to cut out our panel 21” x 21”. Our
pillow insert will measure 20” x 20”.
C D
Once you have ironed your folded panel, hoop your choice
of stabilizer. For this example we are using Tear-Away.
NOTE: You can also choose to use No-Show mesh or a
sticky back tear away stabilizer. It's up to you!
Now it’s time to find the center point of our hoop. Using a
ruler and tailor’s chalk, line up your ruler with the notches on
your hoop and draw the intersecting axis.
