STITCHING A FANCY FLOCK BLOCK
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Place a piece of batting over top of the squaring stitch. Make
sure the batting completely covers the stitches on all sides.
Once positioned, proceed to run the tacking stitch to secure
the batting.
C D
After tacking the batting in place, use a pair of curved tip
embroidery scissors to trim away the excess batting up to the
tacking stitch.
Next, place the base fabric right side facing up on top of the
batting. Be sure your fabric is large enough for at least a 1⁄2”
seam allowance on all sides.
E F
Run the tacking stitch to secure the base fabric in place. Continue running the decorative embroidery steps until you
reach the placement stitch for the first standard appliqué.
To start, hoop a piece of No-Show mesh stabilizer, then run
the first step in the design, which will be the squaring stitch.
