MIX & MASHUP | ALL ACCESS | 51
Here at Anita, inspiration can come
from anywhere and everywhere, but
sometimes inspiration comes from within!
When the urge to create hits, there’s
nothing we love more than revamping a
past All Access collection by combining
it with a current one, turning both
collections into something unique!
A fun way to flex your creativity is to
re-imagine collections in new ways and
think outside of the box. Many of our
quilting collections are mix and match,
but this can apply to projects and
embroidery as well! It just takes a
little imagination.
With that in mind, this month’s Mix
& Mashup involves combining and
re-imagining three separate Anita
Goodesign collections, all around a
central theme: creating a special space
in the kitchen where we can brew that
beloved cup of coffee.
Using the coffee theme as a starting
point, we knew that we wanted to
make an apron, so we looked through
past collections for inspiration to pull
from. The apron designs in the Retro
Kitchen Aprons collection are sew
cute, but didn’t quite fit our barista
theme. We looked at the typographic
designs available in this month’s
Coffeeholics collection and chose a
design that was vertically-oriented, just
like the apron pocket.
You can create combinations like
this with tons of different All Access
collections, and even use your
machine to skip embroidery steps so
you just stitch the parts of the design
that you like! As long as everything is
centered and sized appropriately, the
combinations you can come up with are
almost endless!
