Focusing on Breast Cancer & Successful Aging For over 5 centuries, yoga has been recognized as a powerful tool for treating various health conditions. Scientific research is providing increasing evidence for its medicinal benefits. YMEDICA conducts evidence-based studies from which we develop yoga protocols, ensuring maximum safety and effect. YMEDICA promotes opti-mal health. We are currently training yoga instructors in two upcoming 20-hr trainings at Indra’s Grace in Weatherford, Texas. The first training, from April 7th-9th, is a 20-hr RE-WIND ® Health Breast Cancer Training. YMEDICA part-nered with Mayo Clinic to conduct a 12-week efficacy pilot to test the REWIND® Health Breast Cancer pro-gram. Results demonstrated an increase in quality of life, improved sleep and an ease in their physical, mental and emotional pain associated with breast cancer. In the 20-hr training REWIND Health Breast Cancer Training, participants will learn and teach the REWIND® Health Breast Cancer series and be able to modify the series for individual student needs. In addition, partici-pants will explore the anatomy and physiology of breast cancer, from both a Western and Eastern perspective and their relevance to yoga. Finally, participants will learn the psychology of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment from both a Western and Eastern perspective. The second training, from May 19th-21st, is a 20-hr REWIND Gold: Successful Aging Training. REWIND Gold is an evidence-based series that has been proven safe and effective in two studies by Arizona State Univer-sity.  Results demonstrated a 31% improvement in agility, 47% improvement in aerobic fitness, 60% improvement in lower & upper body strength and a 97% improvement in lower & upper body flexibility. In the 20-hr training REWIND Gold: Successful Training, participants will learn and teach the REWIND Gold series. One of the unique aspects of this series is that it can be taught in a chair or on a mat, simultaneous-ly. In addition, participants will explore the physiology, psychology and myths of aging. They will, also, learn the contraindications associated with chronic disease. Finally, participants will hear expert interviews on the latest re-search in this growing field. Learn to keep your students safe and tap into the larg-est growing demographic of yoga participants, almost 14 million (up from 4 million in 2012). Teachers are also eligible for 20 Yoga Alliance CEUs. For more information or to register, email Carrie Hensley at carrie@ymedica.com.
