Cooley Law School, Tampa Bay Campus. The
evening of dining and recognition included Judge
Edward LaRose of the Second District Court of
Appeal as its keynote speaker. Judge LaRose’s
remarks were well accepted and appreciated by both
the students and attorneys in attendance.
HSN Companies for Kids Invitational
HSN held a reception at its headquarters in St. Petersburg
for the sponsors of the 4th Annual Companies for Kids
Invitational Golf Tournament that benefits Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, an organization that changes lives
by changing perspectives. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps
children achieve success in life by providing them with
strong and enduring one-on-one relationships with their
mentors (Bigs). The experiences help children who are facing
adversity change their lives for the better, forever.

Helping Charity Works
Jeanie and Chris Renfrow of Charity Works were excited that Fran
Bartlett, the owner of the Lobster Pot Bistro, chose them to receive
the profits from the restaurant’s fourth anniversary celebration.
T o celebrate the Lobster Pot Bistro’s fourth year on Clearwater
Beach, Fran Bartlett held a Neptune Fest with unlimited
seafood, fine wines, champagne and music by Allon Sams
to benefit Charity Works, an organization that helps those who
help others. The event was sponsored by Tampa Bay Magazine,
and its Editor/Publisher Margaret Word Burnside served for
the fourth year as the fundraiser’s honorary chair.
SMartLY DRESSED
The Margaret Acheson Stuart Society’s annual luncheon and runway
fashion show benefit for the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg
filled the Vinoy’s Grand Ballroom with over four hundred smartly
dressed MFA supporters. Event chair Rachael Russell thanked Carol
Nelson and Virginia Ward for co-chairing the “Dress Rehearsal”
pre-party; Dion Lim, 10 News co-anchor, for emceeing; and Terri
Najmolhoda, Saks Fifth Avenue-Sarasota’s general manager, for
presenting the fashion show. Dr. Kent Lydecker, director of the
Museum, introduced Dr. Jerry Smith, the MFA’s new Hazel and
William Hough chief curator.
