Photography by Gram and Noraa Suncoast Performing Arts Foundation Gala To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Largo Cultural Center, the Suncoast Performing Arts Foundation held a Gala dinner dance at the Center. The emcees were John and Mary K. Wilson. The major announcement at the event was that the Center has changed its name to the Central Park Performing Arts Center to better reflect what it has become over the past 20 years. George and Kim Feaster and Mayor Woody Brown and his wife Jenny were the Gala’s honorary chairs, and Betsy Byrd and Judy Hall were its co-chairs. Largo Mayor “Woody” Brown and “First Lady” Jenny announced the city’s decision to change the Center’s name and its place in our community. Rocco Morabito, “hairstylist to the stars,” congratulated Gala co-chair Betsy Byrd, owner of Safety Harbor’s The Stuffed Mushroom, which catered the dinner. 164 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 Laura Jolly and her husband, Congressman David Jolly, added their support to this fundraiser for the Performing Arts Center. Gala co-chair Judy Hall and her husband Paul were sponsors of this 20th anniversary celebration of the Largo Cultural Center. John and Melanie Toppe have been active supporters of the Center since its inception, as The benefit’s emcees Mary K. and John Wilson John is the architect who designed it. spoke about their experiences with the Center and its importance in the community.
