Travis Finchum, the board president
of The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation, has
been a member of the foundation’s board
since 2008, and is halfway through his
term. He became involved in 2004 because
of his daughter Lillian, who has Down
syndrome. He knew that the Arc Tampa Bay
would look out for her when he couldn’t.
Stephanie Gularte, the producing
artistic director of American Stage
Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, will
be leading the American Stage Trippers
to London in October. For 30 years, the
Trippers have traveled around the country
and the world on cultural adventures. This
10-day experience to what many call the
“theater capital of the world” will include
four shows and six daily guided tours
of Salisbury and London. To learn more

Judy Weitekamp was honored by the
Morean Arts Center for her generous
support of the center that allows them to
touch people’s lives in a wondrous and
exhilarating way.
Michael Pastreich, the president and
CEO of the Florida Orchestra, reports
that more than 100,000 seats were sold
by the orchestra this past season, the
most in its history. Eighteen of their
performances were sellouts. The group
also served more than 88,000 people
through its community engagement
and access programs. The orchestra gala
that featured violinist Itzhak Perlman
raised more than $618,000, thanks to the
efforts of the gala chair Bob Schmidt,
who expects to top that amount by more
than 50 percent at this year’s gala that will
feature Sting. Despite its successes, the
orchestra still faces challenges, but between

Michael Francis, the Florida Orchestra
grows stronger each year. Thanks to both

Skip Alford has been appointed the
Greater Palm Harbor area Chamber of
Commerce president. He replaces Connie
Davis, who headed the chamber for the
past 30 years. Alford has led other Florida
chambers and will use his experience to
help strengthen the business community
of Palm Harbor.
Barbara Mazer Gross has become
the executive director of Studio@620 in
St. Petersburg, which was founded by its
artistic director Bob Devin Jones 13 years
ago. Barbara will be the first executive
director for Jones, who has developed
this venue into one of the area’s most
important artistic incubators. Barbara has
the background and interest to aid Bob as
he continues to grow this highly successful
nonprofit art space.
Malcolm Glazer, the
visionary who purchased
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
after the passing of Hugh
Culverhouse, and Jon
Gruden, the coach who
took the Buccaneers to the
Super Bowl championship,
will both be inducted into
the team’s Ring of Honor.
Nancy Westphal is celebrating that
the 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House
in downtown St. Petersburg has been
honored by Wine Spectator for having one
of the most outstanding restaurant wine
lists in the world, earning the magazine’s
2017 Award of Excellence.
Rabbi Gary Klein of Temple Ahavat
Shalom in Palm Harbor gave the opening
prayer to the U.S. House of Representatives
as a guest chaplain at the request of U.S.
Rep. Gus Bilirakis.
Terry Tillung, a real estate agent

recognized for having had the highest
number of new listings and the highest
volume of contracts. Terry is always one

Chef Christopher and Dion Falzon,
brothers who grew up in Dunedin, are
the new owners of Kelly’s-chica-boomroom,
formerly Kelly’s for Just About
Anything! and the adjoining Chica-Boom
Room at 319 Main Street in the heart of
downtown Dunedin. They will continue
to serve lunch, dinner and the same great
brunch with a focus on fresh, local, healthy
gourmet cuisine. They are tweaking the
menu, extending the hours and updating
the back patio for private parties to make
the great even greater.
