bodies, the International Boxing Federation
(IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA)
and the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
After that, he envisions possibly moving up
to a full welterweight (147 lb.) but he isn’t
looking that far ahead yet.
“Eventually one day I will move up in weight.
I want to deal with the tournament first before
I even think about moving up,” he said.
Discussing the Berg/Wahlberg film,
“Wonderland,” in which he is being
featured, Regis was instructed to embargo
details of the content until further notice.
He did, however, disclose the names
of cast members who, besides him and
Wahlberg, include Alan Arkin, Bokeem
Woodbine, Post Malone, Winston Duke,
Iliza Schlesinger, and New Orleans actor
James Dumont. The shooting was taking
place in Boston in mid-December.
So, does this young champion have plans for the future when he eventually
retires from the ring? Will he stay with
the sport as a trainer, manager or a related
capacity or move on to a new career? “I
don’t want to think that far ahead,” is the
answer. “I can’t really say right now. I can’t
see myself being a trainer right now or a
manager or any of that other stuff.
“Right now I want to make enough money
to take care of myself and my family and
be comfortable,” Regis added. “I have
very good financial advisors who can
tell me what to do with my money
so I don’t have to worry about that.
Whatever happens, going forward
we’ll just have to wait and see and go
from there. I’m really young and I just want
to focus on boxing because I love it.” ��
