PUPPY’S FIRST VISIT
Housebreaking Your Puppy (continued)
Take the food up after breakfast so that there isn’t another gastrocol-
at all times, 24 hours a day, including inside the crate.
Repeat this process when you feed another meal. You will also need
to take the puppy outside when you arrive at home and get the
puppy excited. Activity will stimulate defecation and urination.
Put the puppy in the crate when you can't watch him/her. Most puppies
honor their mother's wishes to have a clean environment and
will keep the crate clean like the mother did. You can expect the
puppy to be completely housebroken by 12 or 13 weeks. Please share
any problems you are having with your veterinarian so s/he can help
you to complete the housebreaking training.

New Puppy?
Take This List to Your Puppy’s First Visit
with the Veterinarian
Congratulations!
You now have a new family member. Along with the joy of owning a
new puppy is the responsibility of being a dog owner requiring attention
to the following:
1. Puppy Socialization/Obedience Training
2. Housetraining
3. Preventative Healthcare
4. Feeding Puppy
5. Safe Toys/Treats
7. Children & Dogs
We like to discuss these topics
with new puppy owners, to give
them an opportunity to have the
best possible experience with their
new family member. It might
help you to take this list to your
veterinarian, in order to spark the
conversation about these very
important facets of being a good
parent to your puppy.
