(Below) GIRL POWER con't from p. 36 agrees, “Kasey was her biggest cheerleader always encouraging her.” When Kasey found out that Summer had been chopped, his heart broke. But no matter the disappointment, Summer remembers, “Dad reminded me that I’m only 12, and there are so many other shows out there. Now that I know what to expect, I am ready.” Diane brightens, “She’d love to be able to do a redemption show. If they offered her another chance, she would definitely jump at the opportunity.” Throughout the entire process, many have provided encouragement. Summer shares, “One of the Chopped Junior judges, a chef with his own TV show encouraged me that he was in my exact place on Chopped, as he too got chopped in the first round. He thought, ‘I’m not meant to cook.’ But something said, ‘Yeah, you are, so I kept cooking and look at me now! You just have to keep doing what you’re doing, and you’ll make it far.’” In keeping the dream alive, Summer definitely would love to own several fancy restaurants. She assures, “I’ll definitely have one here with others in New York City, Las Vegas, and similar big cities. The name will be ‘All in Good Thyme.’” Truly there’s no doubt that as Summer continues onward with her inspirational quotation being, “The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary,” and with strong local support from family and friends, Summer will shine. Remembering what her Dad always tells her, “You’re braver than you think you are!” Summer will go for it with all the Girl Power she can muster! ����For more, see p. 35 & p. 38.
