Today, Clearwater enjoys an economic impact of $145 million dollars from sport tourism, with more than $125 million (or 90 percent) coming from Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training. With our combined professional and amateur events each year, Clearwater is responsible for two-thirds of Pinellas County’s total sports tourism. Eddie C. Moore Complex alone hosts around 42 athletic events a year. The city has also been selected to host national and international events this year.
