Hickory County, MO Home to Lake Pomme de Terre Recreation Area Hickory County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. The county was organized February 14, 1845, and named after President Andrew Jackson, whose nickname was “Old Campground ���������������������������������������� ������������������������������������������ �������������������������������������������� ������������������������ 10 Hickory.” Pomme de Terre Lake is located in the rugged, tree-covered hills of the west central Missouri Ozarks on the Pomme de Terre River.
