You get to see what they do and how they extend themselves to be involved. It’s just impressive and enriching to do that. I feel like I’ve learned so much about the people of this community as a consequence.” However, the Spirit of Manatee Award is certainly not Tinsworth’s ��rst. He also received the 2013 Individual of Merit Healthcare Award from the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, the 2014 SAO Oren Olivier Distinguished Service Award from Southern Association of Orthodontists and the 2012 Distinguished Service Award from Florida Association of Orthodontists. He was also named by Sarasota Magazine as Dentist of the Year in 2014, and Tinsworth Orthodontics was a Bradenton Herald People’s Choice Award Winner in 2015 and 2017. Tinsworth says his spirit of giving was ��rst ignited by his church, Boy Scouts and his parents. After retiring from dentistry, Tinsworth’s father spent six weeks a year caring for Vietnamese boat people abroad. All Smiles A widower with ��ve grown children and ��ve grandchildren, Dr. Tinsworth enjoys spending time with family, golf, ��shing and tennis—when he’s not working or volunteering, of course. Although he’s been in practice for more than 25 years, Dr. T. has no plans to call it quits any time soon. “I love what I do, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.” In other words, Manatee County can keep on smiling.
