The year 2017 marks the 27th year Zefon has been in business. Many things have changed over those 27 years, starting with only a couple of air sampling cassette products. Today this has evolved into a complete line of air sampling equipment Zefon directly manufactures along with many complimentary products we distribute from the industry’s top brands. Over those years we have learned that we must always continue to find ways to do things better. Here are some of our current improvements: Expanded Preloaded Cassette Product Line With the 2017-2018 edition of the Zefon catalog we have re-organized the way we list our preloaded cassettes along with adding many configurations that were previously only available by special request. The result is the largest selection of preloaded cassette configurations available anywhere without having the hassle of a custom order. Addition of a new grade of PTFE membrane For many years the most popular type of PTFE membrane used in air sampling has been the ZefluorTM brand manufactured by Pall Corporation. This membrane uses 2 layers of PTFE that are bonded together. Pall has announced that this membrane will no longer be manufactured in the future with no direct replacement. Zefon has been working for quite some time on a suitable replacement and we are happy to announce that in the summer of 2017, we will introduce the ZePoreTM brand of PTFE as a direct replacement for the ZefluorTM membrane. If you currently use the ZefluorTM brand PTFE I would encourage you to contact Zefon sales this summer and request samples of the new ZePoreTM PTFE filters. Addition of a Director of Scientific Research I am pleased to announce that we are expanding Zefon’s research and development with the addition of Dr. Martin Harper to our team. Dr. Harper comes to Zefon from NIOSH, where he was chief of the NIOSH Exposure Assessment Branch in Morgantown, WV. Many of you know Dr. Harper, either personally or just by name. At Zefon, Dr. Harper will be the Director of Scientific Research. He will be a great asset as we move forward with some new and innovative products to come. Stay tuned.
