Vidalia Onion Festival Sidewalk Art Event Hometown Happenings APRIL Downtown Vidalia There’s always something fun happening in downtown Vidalia, especially during Onion Festival week. VHS and RTCA art students took to the streets to create chalk drawings in honor of our city’s favorite vegetable. The colorful drawings covered the downtown sidewalks for visitors to see. Girl Scout Celebration at the Altama Altama Museum of Art and History The local Girl Scouts held a bench re-dedication ceremony at the Altama Museum of Art and History in honor of former Girl Scout leader Barbara Moses. The bench was originally placed at the Vidalia city pool in 1968 in memory of Mrs. Moses. It was moved to the museum and rededicated on Founders Day (the day Juliet Gordon Lowe held the first Girl Scout meeting).
