It's not so often that a great day starts with burying a friend, but that's how April 29th 2017 started off for us. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks prior, my friend Rick Ulerick (Kings of Mud) died in an accident at a race in Virginia. The way I see it, Rick was one of the most important people involved with Damm Park. He was there at every event using his cameras to document the racing, the action, and the lifestyle of f themega truck people. We live in a time when everyone has a camera on them at all times, but it seems to me that no one knows how to use them (I certainly don't). You could have a thousand cell phones snapping pictures of my truck and I guarantee that Rick would have the best picture every time. And to me that's just about the most important part of what I'm doing. Just about the only thing I should ever expect to get out of my truck and this adventure I'm on is a few amazing pictures on my wall. And I can promise you that Rick Ulerick took a good many of them. A really beautiful eulogy was given in his honor and his ashes were spread in the Carolina mud. Rick will be sorely missed, but will forever be a part of Dennis Anderson's Muddy Motorsports park. A few weeks of hard work was not nearly enough to prepare my truck for what was to come, but none the less, I loaded my babies into our spooky old rig and we headed south. We got to the park friday afternoon and it was going to take every bit of twenty four hours to get it moving. When we got there we found some new additions to the pits. Todd Larson and family brought their horsepower village to town and brought along the big guns and Scott Green. The bar was up and running, and apparently the party had been going on for some time. I already knew Scott but collected a few more friends for life. wagon, but I've got a long list of things that I want to do with that truck, and long jumping is on that list. I've been talking about going for a long jump forever and unfortunately I found myself being excluded from this one. Sail has done some amazing things, and he seemed to be the right guy to bring out for a world record jump.
