NEWS ORRA REALTOR® members to vote on association’s bylaws Proposed bylaw changes regard elections, dues, and MLS ORRA's active REALTOR® members will be called upon to vote on proposed bylaw changes on Thursday, July 13. The vote by voice will take place during the ORRA General Membership Meeting, which will start at 10:45 am at the Noah's Event Venue in Lake Mary. The proposed bylaw changes address issues related to membership; qualification and election; privileges and obligations; dues and assessments; officers and board of directors; meetings; committees; MLS; and indemnification. Both a summary of the proposed changes and a complete redline of the bylaws are available for review on orlandorealtors.org. The membership meeting takes place immediately following ORRA's Power Breakfast: Seminole County at the same location. (Members are invited to attend both, or either, of the events). The breakfast begins at 8:00 am with a buffet and networking, then moves to a program discussing Seminole County topics of school choice; impact fees; property assessment; homestead exemption; new developments; and economic drivers. RPAC donations bring honor to ORRA members RPAC Hall of Fame welcomes three Orlando REALTORS® into its ranks Three Orlando REALTORS® were recognized for achieving milestone donations to the REALTORS ® Political Action Committee during the National Association of REALTORS’ annual legislative meetings in Washington D.C., in May. ORRA President-elect Lou Nimkoff, Brio Real Estate Services LLC; Cynthia Shelton, Cynthia Shelton Inc; and ORRA Past President Sharon Voss, Watson Realty Corp; were each inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame. Nimkoff and Voss were inducted at the $25,000 level, while previous-inductee Cynthia Shelton was elevated to the $50,000 level. ORRA now has 11 members in the RPAC Hall of Fame, which recognizes dedicated members whose RPAC investments total an aggregate of at least $25,000. Shelton $50,000 RPAC stands for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), which since 1969 has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the United States. RPAC’s purpose is to raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support the interests of the REALTOR®, private property rights, and the rights of homeowners. The money to accomplish these goals comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. Orlando’s best neighborhoods, ranked Niche.com considers housing, schools, crime rate, jobs Niche.com, a website that reviews schools, colleges, cities, and neighborhoods, has named Central Florida’s top 25 neighborhoods. The site produces its rankings based on public statistics about area crime, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities, and, of course, housing.
