6. Protection of Information Systems Resources and Data – Employees are responsible for Integrity Leadership 2017 6 | P a g e protecting all information system resources and data within the Company by ensuring that all information within their control is only released to those with legitimate business needs. A violation of this policy, or of the standards, procedures or guidelines established in support of this policy, is considered grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. Furthermore, unauthorized use of an information system may be in violation of federal law and may constitute grounds for either civil or criminal prosecution. 7. Use of Information Systems Resources for Personal Use – Martin Marietta places the highest value on the treatment, dignity and safety of its employees. Therefore, sending, receiving, displaying, posting on social media sites or video sharing websites, texting, storing, printing or otherwise disseminating materials that is fraudulent, harassing, offensive, illegal, defamatory, embarrassing, sexually explicit, obscene, intimidating, or that could be reasonably interpreted as degrading people because of their race, color, sex, age, national origin, religious beliefs, disabled or veteran status is prohibited and will not be tolerated by the Company. Martin Marietta monitors all system activities and performs auditing functions to ensure that employee activities comply with this policy. Any communication of such material is grounds for disciplinary action, including immediate termination of employment. 8. Violation of Information Systems Copyright Laws – Employees must not violate usage of copyrighted software or make copies unless given express permission to do so by the owner. Martin Marietta and its employees are legally bound to comply with the Copyright Act, Title 17 of the US Code and Copyright Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-42 for Canada as well as adhere to all software license agreements.
