STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS STEP D Now that your base fabric is secure, run the next step in your machine. This is called the placement stitch and it will show you where to place your first piece of appliqué fabric. The placement stitch will always only stitch around once. Be sure to run this step before you place your appliqué fabric down. STEP E Choose what color you want the face of your skeleton and place your fabric, right side facing up, over the placement stitch. Be sure that your appliqué fabric is big enough to cover all of the placement stitches. TIP STEP F The next machine step will tack your chosen fabric down. The tack down stitch will always stitch around twice. Be aware of this to avoid confusion between your placement and tack down stitches.
