STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS G H Place the hoop back into the machine and run the tacking stitch. This will secure the fabric to the batting and stabilizer. I J Repeat steps F-I for the remaining pieces of appliqué fabrics. Your machine will run the zigzag stitches between each fabric to cover raw edges. K L Run the next machine step which will tack the organza to the quilt block. Take the first piece of appliqué fabric and lay it over the placement stitches right-side up. Be sure to leave at least a 1/2” on all sides that are outside of the squaring stitches. Trim the excess fabric from around the tack down stitches that are within the squaring stitches. Note: Do not trim any fabric in your seam allowance. Once all the zigzag stitches are complete, take a piece of organza and lay it over the entire block making sure you have at least a ½” seam allowance all the way around.
