VARIABLE 2 - REPEATS NOTES The only other variable with running stitches is the amount of repeats that the stitch makes. Essentially, when you digitize a line it is always created as a single-ply stitch. You can always change the amount of repeats later. Here is the definition of stitch repeats: 1. SINGLE PLY You will digitize as shown and the stitch will start at the first point and then end at the last point. 2. 2-PLY This is the trickiest stitch to digitize. After you click your last point, your stitches will automatically backtrack through your points and then end at the first point, creating two precise layers. 3. BEAN A bean stitch is usually three layers of thread, so that when it stitches, it will be much thicker than a single ply. This stitch is like the single ply in that it starts on the first point and ends on the last. The stitches are overlapped one at a time which is why they only work at odd numbers. 3 layers is standard for a bean stitch, most software brands will allow you to stitch 5, 7, 9, and sometimes more layers.
