Vintage Hand Bag steps STITCHING HAND BAG BLOCKS a b To begin, hoop a piece of No-Show Mesh stabilizer and run step 1 of the design. This is the squaring stitch showing you where to place your batting. c d Step 2 of the design will be the tack down stitch, securing your batting to your stabilizer. e f Next, place your base fabric over top of the tack down stitches, making sure the fabric extends by 1/2” on all four sides. Place a piece of batting over top of the squaring stitch. Be sure to completely cover all four sides. Using scissors, trim away the excess batting from the tack down stitches.
