What makes the Wildwood’s Fabulous 50’s Weekend so fabulous? This is where Chuby Checker first did The Twist, Bill Haley’s Comets rocked around the clock and Bobby Rydell swooned about his Wild Wild Wildwood Days in his 1962 hit song. A glimpse of The Wildwood days that Bobby Rydell lovingly refers to can still be seen in new motels, supermarkets, pharmacies and gas stations, all re-designed in fabulous doo wop 1950s style. The two day celebration T D B A N K kicks off on Friday, October 13 with a 50’s style dance party at the Wildwood Convention Center from 6:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 plus tax per person. A FREE street fair will take place at Fox Park in Wildwood on Saturday, October 14 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. featuring classic cars, food and craft vendors, a Doo Wop Bus Tour, and live entertainment. Saturday night features a star-studded concert in the Wildwoods Convention Center at 7 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) featuring Frankie Avalon, The Duprees, Danny & The Juniors, and The Ladies of Shake, Rattle ‘n Roll.
