The cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor is more of a museum than a place for cool desserts. Owner Paul Russo has a huge personal collection of 1950’s music and memorabilia including juke boxes, concert posters, figurines and signage from that era that is a must see, and the ice cream is great too! Cool Scoops is located at 1111 New Jersey Avenue. Don’t forget to stop in to the former 1950’s Surfside restaurant that was dismantled and stored until recently housing the Doo Wop Preservation league. The Doo Wop Museum houses an array of 1950’s relics, artifacts and memorabilia that has been saved from hundreds of old motels that have been demolished. It also serves as a visitor’s center where you can pick up maps and brochures about all that Wildwood has to offer. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings it is the starting point for Doo Wop neon light tours that highlights all the glitz that Wildwood offers.
