What a summer! When I last left y you folks I I was heading g for a series race in Esperance, NY. Mountain Maddness, which which Photos by Randy Oakley is covered in this issue was a fantastic time with fantastic a blast and the party scene was full steam ahead. Hanging with friends (including our fearless leader and editor Shawn Michalski) till the sun came up days on end. We bounced around from party to party at night but were all business during the daytime. We did interviews and truck/driver features for future articles. We were able to catch up with old friends and make many new ones as well. Shawn had a few days to kill before heading home so I gathered up some of my buddies and had them play “hooky” with us. We all hopped into my mighty Dodge and meandered up the winding roads though the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Known for it’s scenic overlooks, historic hiking trails and multiple ski mountains we were there for another mission....the rivers! The rivers also offer beautiful winding landscape and falls but I happen to know a bunch of backwoods swim holes that offer sketchy cliffs and rock formations that make for exciting short adrenaline blasts that are good for your soul. We spent the day egging one another on and hitting 20’ leaps then a couple 25 footers and then as the rain came down and made it even more challenging(deadly) we stopped and leaped the 40 footer! A big part of my life is spent on the road, hence this column. I actually have to scroll through my phone and look at the pictures I take along the way to put these articles into words. After dropping off Shawn I made a trip from my shop to Dave Coady’s shop in Massachusetts to drop off the Pirate: 23
