that I was a decent photographer until I got this thing in my hands and realized that I had absolutely no idea how to use it. �������� �������� �������������� �������������������� �������������� �������������� �������� ������ ���� �������������� I would occasionally take it to a race or on vacation and snap a few pictures in automatic mode, usually disappointed with the pictures that I was producing. It wasn’t until I decided to buy a cheap telephoto lens that my perspective changed. Just by a simple lens change, I started seeing images come out of the camera that were entirely unlike anything it had produced in the previous ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ me to learn more about how the camera works, how the lens works, and most of all, how to produce an image in the camera the way I see it in my head. The learning curve was steep from that point forward. In a short timeframe, I went from having no clue how to ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ true gig as a motorsports event photographer came at a Quaboag Riders Motorcycle Club hill climb in southern Massachusetts and without a doubt, my favorite part of the day was capturing sincere moments between the 5 to 10 year old riders in the youth class and their fathers coaching them at the start line. Since then, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to both compete and photograph at a variety of off-road motorsports events. Spending time on both sides of the lens gives me unique perspective as a photographer since I know what types of pictures I love to see of myself and my vehicle as a competitor. The challenge that I give myself every time I have a camera ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ that will give the competitor something to show off and hold on to for years to come. It could be the angle, the lighting, the motion blur from a slow shutter speed, or a million other details about a photo to separate it from all the others. ���������� ���������������������� ������ ���������� ���� �������� ������ ������������������������ ������������ photography. You can take 10 photographers standing in the exact same spot, photographing the exact same subject, and in the end you will get 10 totally unique images. Furthermore, with the impressive package of smartphone technology that everybody holds in their pocket today, photography is an art that anyone can practice. It’s a great world that we live in and for professional or semiprofessional photographers, it simply means that the bar has been raised to capture truly unique and breathtaking images.
