I’d also like to extend a special thanks to our “first responders,” the Tybee Island Police and Fire Departments; the Department of Public Works and all the rest of our marvelous City staff. Finally, thanks to Georgia Power, the US Coast Guard, Carroll & Carroll, the Salvation Army and everyone else who came to help those in need; and Huc-a-Poos and Nickie’s for feeding those who stayed. Our hearts go out to everyone who suffered damages as a result of the storm, especially those on Lewis Ave. There are many reasons why we choose to live here but the way we care for each other in times of need is one that we all embrace.
