12 responders have at-the-ready boxes of necessities they can offer to someone in need in a timely manner. Sometimes law enforcement personnel come in contact with a family due to some sort of emergency situation only to discover the family has no food, no diapers, or no baby formula. The Food Bank provides boxes set up with these important items to get these families through a tough time. Animal lovers will be pleased to learn that dog and cat food is also available, so pet owners won’t have to be concerned with feeding a beloved pet when dealing with an emergency. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT There are many wonderful ways to get involved and assist the work done by the Food Bank of Manatee. Each year, the Food Bank hosts several local events to bene��t the programs it operates here in our community. For example, the annual Stuff the Bus food drive provides much-needed inventory for the busy fall and winter months. Then, in November, there is an event called Empty Bowls, which is a community luncheon featuring local artists painted ceramic
