Employment Project:
Bright Feats is working to
provide meaningful employment to individuals
with unique abilities through a collaborative
partnership with Seminole County Public
Tampa Bay Greater Orlando Space Coast
Schools (SCPS) Exceptional Student Support
Services (ESSS) and Kelly Green (social media
marketing expert).
With the work we do at Bright Feats and the
connections we have within the local special
needs community, there are many opportunities
to explore. We have a menu of activities to share
with individuals so they may learn employable
skills and highlight their unique abilities and
strengths. Our employment project focuses on
activities such as producing the Bright Feats
magazine, managing the website and database
for the directory, and preparing the packages of
publications for bulk mailings.
This past summer, our collaborative team
hired six interns through SCPS ePathways to
learn about social media support. Dr. Lisa Jester
with the Institute for Community Inclusion
worked with the students on career readiness and
entrepreneurship skills to connect their work
activities to the context of meaningful employment
in the future.
Employment is a natural progression of
our mission to serve local families by creating
meaningful jobs for individuals to have a
positive impact in the community.
