Dear SFSC Performing Arts Lover,
What a wonderful season it’s been with
inspiring performances like “Amazing Grace”, Black
Violin, and Dunlap & Pennington, and there’s still
more to come! Soft rock icons America will be here
on March 23 performing their No. #1 hits, “A Horse
with No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Tin Man”, and
“Lonely People.” America had the No. #1 album in
country in 1971 and won a Grammy Award in 1972. Listen to 105.7 FM
and you’ll surely hear one of their many hits.
One of the hottest places in Nashville is the Bluebird Café which
has the worldwide reputation of launching the careers of many
songwriters. You have the chance to experience that intimacy on
March 8 when Music City Hit-Makers take the stage. Two of country
music’s most accomplished songwriters will share stories behind
the music and perform their hits that have been recorded by Carrie
Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Kelly
Clarkson and more. Come and hear Grammy award winner Chris
Destefano and Marcus Hummon!
Since SFSC founded the Artist Series in 1984, there have been
memorable performances from artists such as Jose Feliciano, Lou
Rawls, Paul Anka, Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle, Marvin Hamlisch,
Kenny Rogers and Mandy Patinkin. Next season we will celebrate
the 35th anniversary of the Artist Series and it will be one of the
biggest seasons ever. Subscribers will continue to get special
benefits including getting the best seats in the house for the greatest
discounted rate, advance notice of special engagements and
reduced processing fees.
Ancient Greek philosopher Plato said, “Music gives a soul
to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to imagination, and life
to everything.” This was a high-flying season, but 2018-2019 will
definitely soar. I hope you join us!
