APRIL 2018 / THE CHOSEN PEOPLE - 4
THE FIRST TIME WE
READ ABOUT THE
ABRAHAMIC COVENANT
IS IN GENESIS 12:1-3:
Now the LORD had said
to Abram: “Get out of your
country, from your family
and from your father’s
house, to a land that I will
show you.
I will make you a great
nation; I will bless you and
make your name great; and
you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who
bless you, and I will curse
him who curses you; and in
you all the families of the
earth shall be blessed.”
The land boundaries
promised in the Abrahamic
Covenant are detailed in
Genesis 15:18-21 and
have never become the
actual territory of the
nation of Israel. One day
these promises will be
fulfilled at the second
coming of Jesus and
the establishment of the
Messianic kingdom.
As God promised Abram,
“To your descendants I
have given this land, from
the river of Egypt as far
as the great river, the river
Euphrates...”.
