HANK’S STORY - 5K WALK/RUN

Hank's Story
In March of 2006 my sister
brought home a puppy named
Hank.
Everyone instantly fell in love
with him! He had such a wonderful
personality and loved everyone
he would meet. Just before
Hank's seventh birthday he
wouldn't eat his treats. When we
took him to the doctor they did
an x-ray and found that Hank
had a rare cancer of the connective
tissue called sarcoma. The
tumor was the size of a grapefruit.
Hank's doctors called him
"Hank the Miracle Dog" because
they couldn't believe he was still
functioning with a tumor that big
in his pelvic canal.
Hank was so strong through his
cancer journey. He had the same
treatments as people with sarcoma
do: radiation, surgery, and
chemotherapy all with a smile on
his face. He was the strongest
doggie I have ever met.
November 17, 2014 was the saddest
day of my life when sarcoma
took my best friend and soul
mate Hank from me. I decided
to turn our negative situation
into a positive by starting a non-
Hank Kabel Sarcoma Foundation"
to share Hank's story and
raise money and awareness for
canine cancer and sarcoma.

(the anniversary of Hank's second

We also do a yearly calendar
which shares facts about canine
