Kate Kilpatrick | Assistant Director
Kate is currently working toward her MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from
UCF. Originally from Michigan, Kate has her BFA in acting from Michigan State
University. Some of her favorite shows in which she has performed include
Disenchanted, The Grapes of Wrath, RENT, and Company. She is so excited to
have found her “happy place” at the Orlando REP and has loved every minute of
working with this incredible cast.
Tara Kromer* | Props Designer
Tara earned her MFA at UCF in 2015, where her research was focused on
Directing and Sound Design. She holds a BA in Theatre from the UNC Greensboro,
and is a member of AEA and SDC. Her work has taken her to venues including
Orlando Shakes, Orlando REP, Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival,
Seaside Music Theater, Athens Theatre, and the Hippodrome (Florida), Steppenwolf,
Congo Square, Chicago Shakes (Chicago, IL), New York Stage and Film,
Potsdam Music Theatre, and the Hangar (New York). For Orlando REP, Tara
directed Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical and The Giver, which has played for
over 20,000 students in Orange and Osceola counties for the past two years.

Joe C. Klug** | Scenic Designer
Joeʼs scenic design work has been seen across the country at Orlando Repertory
Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, The Summer Repertory Theatre Festival, The
6th Street Playhouse (Santa Rosa, California), Remy Bumppo Theatre Company,
Music Theatre Works (Chicago), First Stage Childrenʼs Theatre (Milwaukee), The
Hangar Theatre (New York), The Mead Theatre Lab (Washington D.C.), Illinois
Shakespeare Festival, and Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre. He was recently one of
the designers for USITTʼs USA Student Exhibit for the 2015 Prague Quadrennial in
the Czech Republic. He is also a proud member of USA Local 829. Joe is also an
Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at the University of Arizona.
Steve MacKinnon | Director/Musical Director
Steve is a director with an extensive background in creating live theatrical
productions. He has a passion for inspiring and entertaining audiences through
immersive entertainment and imaginative experiences by visioning, collaborating,
and dreaming with teams of designers, directors, choreographers, producers, and
performers of all ages. Recent Directing experience includes Walt Disney
World/Disney Performing Arts, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Orlando Repertory
Theatre, and Garden Theater. Some of Steveʼs favorite Orlando REP experiences
include directing the Orlando REP Power Chords, Disneyʼs Newsies, Mary Poppins,
Disneyʼs The Little Mermaid, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure, A Christmas
Story The Musical, and working with hundreds of young people through camps,
classes, and productions. He currently serves at St. Lukeʼs United Methodist Church
as Director of Theatre and Contemporary Worship.
