Mrs. Morganfield departed this life on June 9, 2018,
the same date as the demise of her beloved oldest
daughter, Beverly Ann Ford. Her life was
exemplified by faithfulness, dedication, and
obedience to Christ by serving her husband, family,
and church. She was truly the model woman
described in Proverbs 31. Her life was not an
easy life, but a rewarding life because she truly
accomplished what God set out for her to do. She
was a genuine Christian woman, wife, mother,
grandmother, confidant, friend, and neighbor and
also possessed many, many other wonderful
attributes.
Mrs. Morganfield leaves to cherish her memory:
her husband, Reverend James L Morganfield;
one son, Reverend James L. Morganfield Jr,;
five daughters, Sharon Denise Jordan, Carol
Lynn (Reverend Walter Rayborn), Valeria Ann
(Michael) Hugghis, Sandra Webber, and Charlotte
Morganfield; three adopted daughters, Shaneise
Edwards, Jeanette Clemons, and Patrice Price;
adopted grandsons, Leon and Anthony Jordan;
twenty-nine grandchildren, 62 great-children,
six great-great grandchildren; her one and only
daughter-in-law, Janice Elaine Morganfield; five
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Reola Nickerson of Pine Bluff,
Arkansas, Mrs. Verneeda Jackson, Mrs. Loretta
Franklin & Miss Edith Pearl Jones, all of Memphis
Tennessee, and Miss Virgie Austin of Cleveland,
Ohio; a special sister cousin, Mrs. Lela Tyler of
Dixmoor, Illinois; and a host of other relatives
and friends who will fondly remember her and
carry on her legacy.
Mrs. Morganfield was preceded in death by her
grandson, Todarrio Britt.
