This girth is too short for this horse because
the buckles are sitting at the edge of the
pectoralis muscle. The hand shows where the
buckles should ideally be sitting. The more a girth is able to distribute weight and
pressure over a larger surface area, the more
comfortable the horse will be. These are all
examples of BSE (both sides elastic) diamond
girths with 4, 5, 6 and 8 inch sternum shields.
