The Denny & Tanya Glass
Appreciating the Artistry of
The Naples Players
Getting to know Tanya & Denny Glass
“We were hooked on The Naples Players
after our first show,” fine artist Tanya
Trinkaus Glass said, remembering her
first visit to Naples and the Sugden Community
Theater. “My husband Denny and
I were beyond impressed that regular
people—like electricians—could come
together to create such professional level
theatre.”
A fashion design graduate of the Maryland
Institute College of Art, Glass has
a particular affinity for the costuming at
The Naples Players. “The authenticity of
the costumes, especially considering the
sheer volume and scale of the productions,
is simply incredible.”
Meanwhile, Tanya’s husband Denny is
excited about the theater’s education
program. “There are over 1,000 students
at various levels of instruction from kindergarten
aged children to teenagers to
adults with disabilities—there’s something
for everyone,” Denny said.
“And with a robust scholarship program,
The Naples Players haven’t turned away a
child or family because of financial ability.”
“In some ways the kids’ shows are even
better,” Tanya said. “There’s that same
professional level of artistry in the design
and direction—but staged with children.
It’s one of those magical experiences that
you know kids will remember forever, and
there’s nowhere else this could happen.”
