G & G Produce
Always one of the most impressive presentations at
the market, G & G Produce occupies the big corner
of Main St and Row P.
Geary Waldrop and Gina Silvey were unimpressed
with local supermarket fruit and vegetable selections,
so in 1985, decided to bring farm-fresh food
directly to the public. With Geary having grown up
on a farm and their direct access to other local farms,
they decided it was time to be self employed. After
getting their business up and running at the Flagler
Farmer’s Market and City Island Market in Daytona,
they moved their operations to Daytona Flea Market
and have remained one of the anchor stores here for
over 30 years.
You can trust the G & G staff for good advice on how
to select and prepare the produce they’re selling.
Did you know that the perfect watermelon should
have a nice green rind with a yellow belly (the side
that rests on the ground while growing) and a dry
stem? These things ensure the melon is sweet, ripe
and ready to enjoy!
In season for the fall months will be Plant City strawberries,
jumbo Holiday seedless grapes, apples,
winter squash varieties, pumpkins, melons, citrus,
corn and more.
G & G specializes in ‘Vine Ripe Beef Steak Tomatoes,
Year Round’ with most of their produce coming directly
from Florida farmers. When in season, fresh
Georgia peaches and other produce from nearby
states is also available.
