Business in Nassau
The south end of Amelia Island is home to high-end
boutiques, housewares, antique, cigar and wine shops and
more in several shopping areas located along the First
Coast Highway, including the Shops at Omni Amelia Island
Plantation, Palmetto Walk and The Shops at Amelia Market.
The downtown Fernandina Beach Historic District
along Centre Street offers a large concentration of
local shops, art galleries and antique stores. Three
Fernandina Beach thoroughfares – Eighth Street,
Sadler Road and 14th Street – form the Central
Commercial Area. Brimming with shopping options,
you’ll find everything from funky second-hand
shops to familiar department stores.
Yulee’s historic shopping area was centered at the
intersection of US 17 and Florida A1A and is a prime
spot for antiques and consignment shopping. The
new Shoppes at Midtown at the intersection is
home to a variety of local businesses, including
retail shops.
In the last decade, the A1A corridor east of Gene
Lasserre Boulevard in Yulee has witnessed an
explosion of commercial growth and now offers a
mix of large national chain stores and restaurants,
with locally owned restaurants and retail outlets.
Callahan’s commercial district is centered along the
town’s main intersection at Florida A1A and US 1
while Hilliard’s commercial district is centered at
the intersection of County Road 108 and US 1. Both
offer a growing number of small shops and eateries.
